The Kentucky Resources Council, Inc., together with the National Parks Conservation Ass'n., Kentucky Conservation Committee, Sierra Club, and Earthjustice, commented on draft air permit seeking tighter limits and controls for TVA Shawnee power plant. Among the changes sought are strengthening monitoring requirements for sulfur dioxide, revising the nitrogen oxide limit downward, strengthen PSD compliance by clarifying the sulfuric acid mist limit and strengthening testing, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements, and other improvements in the draft permit, including consideration of environmental justice issues.
